Dear Prague Summer Session 3 students,
Greetings from Prague! I hope you are all well and slowly getting excited about your upcoming study abroad experience in the Czech Republic! 🇨🇿 My name is Michaela and I will be your main CIEE point of contact once you arrive on site.
As your arrival to Prague is fast approaching, I thought it might be a good idea to share with you some basic information about your first days in Prague. Read this email thoroughly and do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions.
ARRIVAL DAY
The official program start date is Monday, July 14, 2025. All Summer Session 3 students must arrive in Prague and check in at their Prague Housing on this day.
CIEE Prague will be arranging transfers from Prague Airport to CIEE Housing on this day between 9 AM and 5 PM. Look for CIEE staff members wearing bright blue t-shirts with the CIEE Prague logo when you exit the baggage claim area at both Terminal 1 and 2.
If you haven't done so already, please provide your flight arrival details immediately (either by replying to this email or by entering the information in your CIEE MyAccount). If your flight arrival time has changed and is now different to the information you have previously entered in your CIEE MyAccount, please let me know.
Students who will miss the group pick up due to delayed flights will be expected to make their own arrangements for transportation to their Prague Housing. We recommend booking your taxi through the Liftago app (Prague Airport has free wifi). Once on the way from the airport, please call the CIEE Prague Phone (+420 737 021 290) so that we can assist you with late housing check-in, no matter the time of the day.
INDEPENDENT ARRIVALS
In case you will not be arriving through Prague Airport on the program start date, please check in at your Prague Housing between 10 AM and 4 PM.
ON-SITE ORIENTATION – MANDATORY FOR ALL STUDENTS
The on-site orientation is mandatory for all students. I am attaching the on-site orientation schedule to this email for your convenience. We will assist all students interested in purchasing a Czech SIM card during the on-site orientation – please make sure your phone has been unlocked. That way you will be able to use European SIM cards on your phone.
SETTLING IN
We care about your well-being and understand that studying (and living) abroad often brings many new challenges. Here are some suggestions to make the transition easier:
- Keeping up with your routine helps immensely with reducing the negative impact of moving abroad (getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising etc.).
- Not all US-prescribed medications are available in Europe – if applicable, please make sure you bring enough for the whole duration of your study abroad.
- Do not hesitate to get in touch – in case you'd like to schedule an appointment with a professional (physical/mental health, etc.) or just talk at any point of the study abroad experience.
- Towels will not be provided in your Prague housing, please make sure you bring your own.
Safe travels and I look forward to meeting you all in person soon!
Kind regards,
Michaela
